I haven't heard anything about the limbs blowing up I have owned a HCA for several years now. If your turning the weight down that will allow for less stress on the bow.

Never heard of limb issues on any HCA. We hear story's of limb issues with every bow manufacture and 99.9% of the time it is caused by the shooter not the equiptment. Most will have dry fires or old/worn or damaged strings and continue to shoot the bow and then once they have a mishap they most likely blame the bow.Human nature !
We see an average of 30+ bows from multiple companys come in our store yearly due to the above. The most common is they put their release on the string and forget and draw it back.

Have the strings and cable been replace within the last 2 years?
The brute force was a great bow and should be a great shooter for her.My wife shoots a sidewinder and reallyenjoys it.
Glad to see your wife involved also.
